Matilde Cruz is currently in her first year of the International Baccalaureate at Benjamin Franklin International School. She was born in Mexico City and has been living in Barcelona for the past five years. Matilde is Mexican, Spanish, Italian, and lived 9 years in Los Angeles. She is fluent in Spanish, English, Catalan, and Italian, which has allowed her to immerse herself in many cultures. Her passion for learning aboutÂ
International relations and global issues encouraged her to join the MUN club two years ago. Since then, she has attended over 5 conferences, including BIMUN, OAKMUN, and BFISMUN. This experience has allowed Matilde to develop strong communication skills and a passion for debate. She is very excited to chair her first conference and is committed to creating a memorable experience for all her delegates, encouraging engaging debate, collaboration, and an inclusive committee.
Mila Vroom is currently in the first year of the IB at Benjamin Franklin international school. While originally Dutch, Mila was born in Barcelona, Spain, where has lived for the past 15 years. She speaks Dutch, English, Spanish, Catalan and French, which has allowed her to understand and form a part of a variety of cultures. She joined the Model United Nations club over 2 years ago and has since attended 5 conferences, including OAKMUN, BIMUN and BCNMUN. Since joining the club, she has grown significant interest in subjects like international relations and political sciences. Through her involvement, she has been able to develop her public speaking skills along with her knowledge and awareness about the world around us. She is very excited to chair her first conference and is especially looking forward to working with delegates from all over the world. She hopes to create a positive and memorable experience for all those participating. Mila is honored to form part of the BFISMUN 2026 chair team and is looking forward to seeing great debates!
Vic Markarova is a sophomore student at Benjamin Franklin International School (BFIS) in Barcelona. She is half Ukrainian and Armenian and joined the school in 2021 after being born and raised in Ukraine. She became a member of the Model United Nations (MUN) club 1.5 years ago and has since participated in conferences such as OAKMUN, BFISMUN, IMUN, and BCNMUN, earning two awards along the way. Her dedication to MUN will culminate in her first chairing experience at BFISMUN 2025, leading the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) committee; she hopes to bring the best experiences for the delegates of this committee. Throughout her involvement in MUN, she developed better public speaking skills, leadership and expanded her knowledge in politics and economics. Beyond her passion for politics and history, Vic is an accomplished dancer with interests in ballet, art, volleyball, guitar, and reading, she also serves as vice president of the feminist club at BFIS. She is looking forward to wide participation and an exciting conference in the UNODC committee!
