Charlie Simpson
Charlie Simpson is currently in his first year of the IBDP program and a junior at Benjamin Franklin International School. He was born in London but has lived mainly in Barcelona, Spain and partly in the US, where he lived in New York and Wisconsin. He is fluent in English, Spanish and proficient in French. Charlie has been a member of BFIS’s MUN since 9th grade and has recently become an Executive member of the club. He has attended six different conferences as a delegate, including one internationally in Lisbon. Charlie is also an executive member of the BFIS Debate team where he has participated and hosted many scrimmages along with attending a NESDA tournament at ASB. Both of these clubs have provided Charlie with a firm grasp on public speaking and has allowed him to develop and expand his debating skills. This year, he is honored to be co-chairing the General Assembly with fellow BFISMUN members Francesco and Pablo.
Francesco Gabella Ochoa
Francesco Gabella is currently a junior at Benjamin Franklin International School. He is taking part in BFISMUN having previously participated as a delegate. Throughout his highschool years he has participated in a variety of MUN events, developing public speaking, critical thinking, and problem solving skills. MUN has pushed Francesco to look beyond local issues, and explore global issues and events. Francesco is an executive at two clubs in BFIS; MUN club where he has taught multiple other students debate structure, and how to navigate it in order to excel a receive awards; and Investment club where he has taught students about critical way in which the market moves, and how this can be used to take advantage of certain opportunities. As a chair Francesco looks forward to the debate and taking advantage of this wonderful opportunity, along with forming bonds with other delegates and making the BFISMUN PC debate a wonderful experience.
Pablo Pomar
Pablo Pomar is a sophomore at Benjamin Franklin International School. He has lived his whole life in Barcelona and has been an active member of his school for the last 10 years. Since being introduced to Model United Nations last year, he has participated in 7 conferences including BCNMUN twice, HAGAMUN, IMUN, BIMUN, BFISMUN, and OAKMUN, gaining best delegate awards in three of them. Through these, Pablo has further developed his passion for politics, debate, and public speaking, and he is now looking forward to expanding his skills through this chairing experience. His interests also expand beyond MUN, as he enjoys activities such as playing football, listening to music, and spending time with friends and family. Pablo is fluent in Spanish, Catalan, English, and Italian and hopes to expand this list throughout the years. He is honored to be part of this new BFISMUN edition and hopes to engage in thoughtful debates!
